Like 27"? Accell mDP1. Using displayresx. I've read elsewhere that this configuration works, except that I'm running Yosemite. I can't get this to work at x regardless of framerate. I was able to apply this patch, but it hasn't changed behavior at all. Any ideas? I have been trying to get the 4k working for almost a week now trying various patch but without any success. Has anybody with same hardware as mine got it working yet? If so, can you please give me some guidance on this? Without 4k capability, the TV is no good to me and needs to be returned. Floris Thanks! I got it working after some trial and error.

Just wanted to report on my experiences on this thread since it seems to have been the most active on this topic. My system configuration: Mac mini Late , 2. By using Floris's fork of mac-pixel-clock patch which was updated to work with There were initially some video glitches like patches of the display where there was memory or other corruption, but these went away shortly.
My initial goal was to use this as a second monitor to my current set up that uses one Apple Thunderbolt display. However, at this point, adding the PQ as a second monitor driven from the HDMI port will limit me to p resolution. TundraTech is incorrect in their assessment of the possibilities, because the HDMI port hardware design in the Mac mini Late limits the output resolution to x by most accounts, and the active adapter they're referencing is not bi-directional -- it converts a DisplayPort 1. I have the Seiki 39" 4k with the July firmware. But I have tried all of the popular ones out there so far.
I am trying to get a couple of resolutions unlocked that I have seen other places namely p hz and the holy grail for me - x 72Hz. I have tried to apply this patch and it seemed to work. However, when I rebooted nothing happens and no other resolutions are unlocked. I have been using SwitchResX but none of my resolutions are being recognized. Would you happen to know anything I can try at all? Seiki 39" 4k. I'm using the app 'Display Menu'. Switch res settings if used , version of Display Menu, Seiki Firmware link, the exact patch you used above as well as what version of Yosemite you are on etc.?
I think this would be extremely helpful for others here who are trying to get this working. And it is not automatically set to 4k when you reboot? If you make a custom resolution with switchresx the system will know them and be able to use them when you login, resolutions at boot time and with at the login screen are hard to get right.. But that is not a problem for most.. I don't have Switchres. Got my Seiki 39 a couple days ago from amazon.

Baseline Ver Customer Ver 1. Floris I'm not very Mac Savvy My original problem was that I think the Mac was not even sending the option for 4K to the monitor period. I applied the patch today, whatever version you have up currently. I changed the settings on display menu to the 4k settings and has remained that way since even with logging out.
For clarification I was thanking you because there were no issues I have been trying to get this to work for months! Can I force things through the HD Graphics ?

I'd like to see 4k 60hz or 4k 30hz for desktop use only no gaming. Yes you can there is a program that can force that.. But it might be the case that that is only possible with the internal screen. I think it's required to use dedicated when using an external monitor.
